Yoko Shimomura
Graduated from Osaka College of Music Junior College, Department of Music, majoring in instrumental music (piano). After working for Capcom Co., Ltd. and Square Co., Ltd. (now Square Enix Co., Ltd.), he is currently active as a freelance composer. While at Capcom Co., Ltd., he was in charge of Street Fighter II. Performs a wide range of genres, from rhythmic sounds of programming to classical orchestral music with large formations. Among them, especially melodious and sad songs, violently dramatic songs have a reputation. Recently, he not only composes but also writes lyrics, and in addition to game music, he is active in a wide range of fields, including providing music for animation, movies, and many other works, as well as participating in domestic and international events and concerts.
In 2019, it suddenly appeared. Music entertainment for fans of the 80's and 90's presented by the insane inventor Aikid along with the final weapon Cyborg Joe. He continues to publish MVs that respect the 80's culture on YouTube, and in 2020, he released the Street Fighter II homage song "Shoryuken Denai", which became a hot topic. Since then, he has continued to produce music based on various 80's and 90's cultures.
Capcom's official band, which belongs to Capcom's sound room and is composed of members who are involved in game sound work on a daily basis, is "Captune (CAP-JAMS)". Rather than forming a permanent band, it has a fluid nature of being organized for each song and event in order to respond to a variety of contents. Musicality also plays a variety of genres unique to game music.
