Michael Roa Valdamjong is the main antagonist of the Near-Side Moon routes of Tsukihime. He is a vampire and a numberless Dead Apostle Ancestor ranked as “Extra” outside of the regular twenty-seven because they consider him to be a heretic who does not uphold the ideals of regular vampires.
Michael Roa Valdamjong is the unofficial twenty eighth of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors in the Tsukihime Remake series. Former priest of the Holy Church. He is called The Serpent of Akasha and The Infinite Reincarnator, which refers to his ability to constantly reincarnate after entering Akasha, the root of everything within the universe, no matter how many times he dies. His seventeenth incarnation is known as Elesia, and his eighteenth incarnation, SHIKI Tohno, is his latest as of the time period of Tsukihime.
A vampire seen known as the “Serpent of Akasha” or the “Infinite Reincarnator.” Former priest of the Holy Church. He can manipulate information and electricity at will. The story of Roa appearing in Souya that came to him predicts the possibilities he might have had following a chance encounter with Arcueid and Shiki.
This character is a main antagonist of the series as he has an unhealthy obsession to one of the main heroines of the game namely Arcueid Brunestud. Ever since he became a vampire and rose in the ranks, he used all of his reincarnations to seek and try to kill Arcueid Brunestud. Throughout centuries and sixteen reincarnations, he has tried and lost to Arcueid Brunestud.
The seventeenth marriage that Roa mentions to Arcueid early in the fight doesn’t mean he has sixteen other wives elsewhere but this is the seventeenth time that he’ll attempt to kill her this time. In the story, Arcueid, Shiki Tohno and Ciel work together to take down powerful vampires that show up in Misaki Town where the whole Melty Blood series is set in.
“The eldest son of the historical Tohno family, he was raised for some time by the Arima branch family. However, he was called back to Souya to live in the Tohno estate shortly after his father passed away. A childhood injury left him with the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, giving him the ability to see the death of all things in the form of lines and points.
He wears special glasses which prevent his eyes from seeing these things all the time. He may be an ordinary student, but his ability to visualize death has altered his very perception of it. The aftereffects of his accident, combined with the toll his eyes take, has left him with chronic anemia. During battle, he removes his glasses to use his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.”

[Noel] Her battle style makes good use of her gigantic weapon’s reach to keep opponents at a distance. “MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA” is coming to PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, Xbox One, and Steam on Sept 30, 2021! A new entry in the “MELTY BLOOD” series of 2D fighting games based on TYPE-MOON’s visual novel “Tsukihime.”
Noel appears one day as Shiki Tohno’s homeroom teacher after his previous one died suddenly.
She recently transferred to Shiki’s school as a new teacher. However, her real identity is an executor for the Burial Agency and Ciel’s partner. She may not have the battle experience Ciel does, but she’s prepared to fight. Whenever faced with a weak opponent, she shows no mercy, claiming to be “weak against the strong, but overwhelmingly strong against the weak.” At school, she exploits her appeal as an older woman to gain popularity with the boys. The girls, however, don’t seem to like her. Judging from the way she idolizes love and marriage, it’s safe to say she doesn’t have much luck with either.
In the original Tsukihime source material for Melty Blood, Noel was a side character that had limited connection to the main stories inside this visual novel. She is first introduced in the story as a substitute teacher that replaces Shiki Tohno’s homeroom teacher who mysteriously disappeared. Noel does this job with a flirty and friendly attitude but is only doing the job as a cover for her hunting work for the Holy Church similar to Ciel.
As the story progresses regardless of which story route the player chooses, Noel either stands down and leaves her post as an undercover teacher or gets turned into a vampire that the main characters have to put down. So far, the Melty Blood Type Lumina’s iteration of Noel seems more human than her vampire variant.
For now, we’ll have to wait for more information about what’s her role in the game if she’ll yet be another side character for the main cast to brush off.
She is a cousin of Shiki Tohno, as well as his other step sister. She received a slight mention in both Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya, then made her first real appearance in the Melty Blood fighting game series.
The Arimas are relatives to the Tohno family, but have very weak demon blood compared to them. When Shiki was adopted into the Arima family, Miyako became close to him, despite being several years younger than Shiki.
Keeping with her “China Girl” theme, Miyako seems to wear a traditional Chinese outfit. Her clothing in Melty Blood also resemble traditional Chinese dress.
However, one of her victory poses in Melty Blood shows that she wears a T-shirt and shorts inside.
Although she tries to look strong, Miyako is actually quite shy, especially around Shiki. One of the routes in Melty Blood story mode shows that Miyako has a hard time saying anything to Shiki. Because of her frowning reticence, Shiki mistakenly assumes that Miyako is always angry at him for some reason.
She is the older of the two twin maids in the Tohno mansion. Her name, Kohaku, is the Japanese word for amber, referring to her eye color.
Kohaku is a maid of the Tohno Mansion and twin sister of Hisui. When a rumor that one of the Tohno family servants was planning to take over the mansion manifested on The Night of Wallachia; Kohaku was selected as a target for the Tatari curse. As a result, she gained her clever mastermind, devious schemes, and scientific knowledge which allowed for the creation of Mech-Hisui. Thusforth, Kohaku spends most of her off time scouting for new people to aid her in her takeover of the Tohno Mansion, and looking for any helpful traps or devices along the way.
Kohaku has short red hair, like her sister Hisui. She wears a blue ribbon at the back of her head and wears a brown Japanese kimono.
Kohaku is always seen to be smiling and cheerful, being especially gifted with medicine which she learned from Sougen Jinan. She has a habit of breaking many (and valuable) objects when cleaning indoors. Though she always states that it was not intended, some characters, like Akiha, seems to think otherwise.
However, all of it is an act. In truth, Kohaku’s smile is empty, as she was mentally scarred and traumatized at a young age due to constantly being raped by Makihisa. Eventually, she stopped feeling emotions, and put up a false smile as well as a cheerful demeanor. In most of the routes of Tsukihime, she continues this facade after the routes end. However, in her own route, she manages to forgive the Tohno family, and eventually truly becomes a cheerful girl.
She claims to have hated Shiki for the silent connection they shared as children (watching one another but never meeting), but it is revealed that she is actually in love with him, and it is in part why she wanted to take on Hisui’s role in the first place. Kohaku simply wanted to innocently love the boy named Tohno Shiki, just as Hisui did as a young girl.
A maid for the Tohno family, responsible for household chores (except cooking) and taking care of Shiki. She is Kohaku’s younger twin. Unlike her sister, she is known for wearing more modern, non-traditional clothing. Her quiet nature makes her true feelings difficult to read, and her formal way of speaking has led Shiki to see her as being rather mechanical. Her fighting skills are not quite on the same level as her sister, but she holds her own well enough.
The official website lists the following so far:
Hisui appears as a stern young woman, but actually she is a kind, loving and emotional girl, hiding her emotions to keep her sister as she is, due to the incident with Makihisa. Seeing Kohaku acting happy as Hisui was as a young girl, she cannot bring herself to return to her former self. Even if Kohaku is simply acting out her old role, she seems to have attained some level of happiness.
Hisui was a member of a branch family of the Fujou clan, but was brought with her sister Kohaku to live in the Tohno mansion, because the Fujou clan had a special power of giving others energy. Makihisa Tohno needed this ability in order to keep control of his body.
Hisui, however, was never forced to utilize her abilities as a Synchronizer because of the pleas of Kohaku and instead found herself living as a normal girl. When Shiki Nanaya arrived to the Tohno house, at first he was unwilling to adapt to his new home, still traumatized for the death of his father. However Hisui was the one who encouraged Shiki to go out and play in the house. Her childhood was pleasant, and even though she is not naturally an active person, upon seeing Shiki playing so energetically she did her best to keep up with him.
After Shiki went to live with the Arimas, Hisui learned that Makihisa raped Kohaku so she becomes depressed. Kohaku, noticing this, promises Hisui that she will “take on her role” until she was cheerful again. Ironically, it is because of those words that Hisui is unable to return to her old self.
Hisui and Kohaku are maids of the Tohno Mansion. Kohaku is able to pose as Hisui during Tsukihime through the use of colored contacts and by drugging her with sleeping pills to keep her out of sight. Kohaku also gives clues as to the difference between them through her speech, as Hisui will always say elder sister, while Kohaku always says sister.
If you like the idea of using “2 characters at once”, F-maids it is.
Hisui (voiced by Kana Ichinose)

Her quiet nature makes her true feelings difficult to read, and her formal way of speaking has led Shiki to see her as being rather mechanical. Her fighting skills are not quite on the same level as her sister, but she holds her own well enough.
Kohaku (voiced by Yuuki Kuwahara)
She and her twin sister Hisui have worked for the Tohno family since they were young. Her trademark outfit is an apron over a classic kimono.Apart from assisting Akiha, she does household chores and tends the garden. Her pharmaceutical knowledge means she is also responsible for Shiki when he falls ill.She is endlessly cheerful, always willing to help, and wears a constant smile. In battle, Kohaku can be seen wielding the sword she keeps hidden in her broom, calling on strange plants, and even dropping fire bombs from above as if by magic. How she is capable of such things is still a mystery to those around her.
After the death of her father, she inherits the role of leader of the Tohno family, a distinguished house in Souya. One year younger than her brother Shiki, she arranged for his return from the Arima family. Her flawless etiquette and bearing perfectly epitomize the daughter of a noble house. She is strict even on herself, rejecting such things as modern-day amusements and frivolity. Because of her prideful and strong-willed nature, many find her difficult to approach. Sensing a mysterious presence in her town, and determined to uphold the Tohno family name, she sets off into the night to investigate…
Akiha Tohno is the younger sister of Shiki and the head of the prestigious Tohno family and a student of the elite Asagami Private Girls Academy.
Akiha has long black hair (that turns red in her Crimson Red Vermillion form) decorated with a white hairband. During school, she wears the standard Asagami uniform, even when she later transfers to Shiki’s school. Her casual clothes consist of a white shirt with a red ribbon on the necktie and a long red skirt.
Akiha is very protective of her brother. She is always intent on knowing what he does with his day, and is extremely suspicious of what he does at night. She gets incredibly jealous when he is around other girls. The constant supervision by his little sister sometimes bears hard on Shiki, but she only watches over him because she worries so much about him. Despite her general peevishness, she really is a sweet girl at heart. She plays the violin in her spare time.
After the incident, her true brother SHIKI was locked away so that he could never again hurt someone and Akiha severed all ties with him and has since said that Shiki, her adopted brother, is the only person she will ever call her brother. Due to this accident, she needs twice the amount of heat of an average person because she is supporting both her own life and Shiki’s. To make up for her increased demand, she must absorb heat from others. She can take this heat in through various means, even by simply absorbing their body heat through contact, but the most efficient method is by drinking fresh blood (as seen when she sucks Kohaku‘s blood in a scene from the game). Because of the strain on her body, this causes, she often experiences attacks of intense pain that can last from a few minutes to several hours. But Akiha bears them bravely, knowing that it is all for the sake of her beloved brother.
Born into the prestigious Tohno family, Akiha lived a sheltered childhood under the strict supervision of her father Makihisa Tohno and was seldom allowed to go outside the mansion to play. She was also subconsciously afraid of her brother SHIKI, because of his strange and different behaviour. When Shiki Nanaya was adopted into the family, she initially disliked him because he had the same name as her brother. One day while she quietly waited for her tutor to arrive, Shiki took her hand, inviting her to play with him and SHIKI and Hisui, the other children at the mansion. Thanks to Shiki she was able to experience at least some semblance of the joys of childhood. Unfortunately, not soon afterward Shiki was near fatally wounded in an accident and was sent by Makihisa to live with the Arimas, relatives from another branch of the family. Akiha tried to visit Shiki at the Arima house several times early on, but pressure from her father and other relatives, in addition to Shiki’s constant visits to the hospital, prevented their meeting. Contact was made all but impossible when Akiha was placed in a boarding school and she was forced to live on the campus. Akiha also states that she sent Shiki many letters, but because he was ordered by Makihisa to never speak to Akiha again, he never replied.
One of the heroines of Tsukihime, often referred to as ‘Curry’. Jack of all trades character. Most similar to a SF shoto in that she is above average at everything: good, above average normals, good damage, decent projectiles, and decent mobility. Her mix-ups are very basic but her neutral is versatile. Mid tier with a good match-up spread against almost everyone.
Ciel is a character with great mobility, ranged attacks, dashes and an anti air move, her Crescent Moon has a mobility move that includes an undodgeable special attack, ranged attack spam, the Full Moon has a heavy hitting blow and a variety of ranged attacks including anti air and anti crouch and a dash grab, her air ranged move changes to a damaging wave and her Half Moon keeps the ranged attack spam and undodgeable special attack, has a jump move that has a ranged and a dash version, a move she jumps to front attacking and her dash move have reduced speed and range.
Ciel is the 7th member in the Burial Agency of the Church, she was the seventeenth incarnation of Michael Roa Valdamjong and originally called Elesia.
Ciel, as Elesia, was born in 1976 in a remote village in France to a French father and an Oriental mother. Due to a high degree of magical potential, she was born as Michael Roa Valdamjong‘s seventeenth incarnation. His sixteenth was destroyed by Arcueid Brunestud before he had a chance to find a family bloodline with both wealth and power. He could only fulfill the requirement that his next incarnation would have physical potential, so he was born into a normal family without any social standing. Her body instead had extremely high magical potential, which is the closest in power to his original body in all of his incarnations.
Everything changed around her sixteenth birthday, when Roa finally began to manifest. She wanted to snap the necks of her friends for no reason, and the sight of a beggar on the road was so funny that she wanted to stab him with a knife. She tried her best to resist the impulses by locking herself away in her room. It was not the same as possession, as she equated the feelings to those normal small destructive passions that all humans possess solidified inside her mind. She knew something terrible would happen if she were to let them take over, so she tried not to see anyone or do anything to avoid hating anyone and bring about her feelings.
Ciel displays two vastly different personalities depending on her current role, that of the kind, calm, friendly, and peaceful upperclassmen and that of the cold member of the Burial Agency. While she tries to act as if it is only a disguise in order to find out if Shiki is Roa’s reincarnation, her gentle self can be called the “real” Ciel, but they are both real in a way. As with all the characters, she has a large burden to handle, so she is able to be more honest right after having sex.
While acting as a senior at Shiki’s school, she is the president and only member of the tea ceremony club. Everybody at school considers her a person of integrity even more reliable than the teachers. She comes to become good friends with Arihiko Inui, Satsuki Yumizuka, and Shiki. When not investigating Shiki, she likes to go to class, where she sits in the back out of everyone else’s view and enjoys listening to the teacher. She runs through the hall helping people out, and likes doing things like fixing the broken fence outside. She has tricked the teachers into letting her have the tea ceremony room, even making them give her a budget so that she can eat as much candy as she would like. Relaxing there and drinking tea in the afternoon is important to her.
While acting as a member of the Church, she is very serious and willing to do whatever it takes to get her tasks done. She wishes to settle her own vendetta with Roa and remove her immortality. She attempts to remain cold and calculating when focusing on completing her job of hunting him down, but her interactions with Shiki make it hard for her. There is only one person to whom she wants to show her merciful side, that being Shiki.
Ciel is a costume fetishist, having designed the outfit she wears when “on duty” personally. She also has a weakness for curry, which has been mentioned in several ways, such as her storing much curry in her apartment. She likes Curry Bread, and as a weapon limited to her, Fried Curry Bread carries the additional effect of instant death, but neither has any effect against Akiha. She’d be happy eating nothing but curry rice with curry udon for lunch every single day. Ever since coming to Misaki, the Indian Curry House Messiaen has become something of an oasis for her.
… click the links before the paragraph to know more about her, she’s very interesting.
A royal member of the vampire race known as the True Ancestors. After suffering through a traumatic event, a naively innocent side of her was somehow released. She now lives as a free-spirited, almost childish, princess. She is incredibly powerful and, despite being a vampire, is able to survive in direct sunlight. She has no desire to threaten human society, instead hunting other vampires known as Dead Apostles. While pursuing her greatest enemy, she arrives in Souya, where Shiki lives. Although a fateful encounter awaits her and Shiki here, a story of an earlier possibility is about to unfold.
Arcueid is shown to be a whimsical individual who, although knowing the basics of the modern era, does not seem to know about social norms. Both Nasu and Takeuchi think of her “image color” as white because she is pure in terms of appearance and personality. Once, she shows up at Shiki’s school and waves to him from the school rear courtyard, luckily for Shiki only Ciel spots her. Her behaviour is almost childlike, due to the lonely nature of her upbringing, although she is over 800 years old, she spent most of it asleep and knows nearly nothing about the world or how to interact with others. As she works together with Shiki to stop Roa, she gradually begins to enjoy life and starts to like Shiki as more than just a friend.
Brunestud, and has been likened to be the vampire royal family, although this is not strictly true. The True Ancestors were a race of beings copied from Type-Moon, the ultimate being of the moon, also known as the Crimson Moon. Long ago the will of the planet had no defense mechanism against humanity, nothing to keep them in check. Thus the Crimson Moon came down and offered to help the planet make a race of ultimate beings to rule over humanity, thus resulting in them being the “consciousness of the planet”. True Ancestors are alike to occurrences such as earthquakes and typhoons rather than individuals as their actions, while evil and without justification, would come as naturally to her (Arcueid and other True Ancestors) as breathing. However the race was fundamentally flawed, they had a desire to drink blood that their original, the Crimson Moon, had. The True Ancestors needed to use a large portion of their power to suppress this impulse, but as there was no cure, and with passage of time the impulse grew, more and more True Ancestors fell and began drinking blood indiscriminately, while others most likely went into eternal sleep.
